Hand-crafted
We use both methods of crochet and the knitting machine to create our products. The knitting machine is used to make larger pieces of material and crochet allows more intricate additions.
Knitting by machine was very popular in the 1960’s till the 1980’s, but fell from favour when clothes became cheaper to buy. However, bespoke styles, colours, and pictures are possible on the knitting machine.
Although not so popular as knitting, crochet is the simplest form of material making. A crochet hook is used which varies in size depending upon the thickness of the yarn. The yarn is made into a circle for the first stitch. Further stitches are made by pulling the yarn through this circle and subsequent circles by the crochet hook.

Materials
There are a variety of different yarns used to create materials for wear and use in the home.
Brigfam Woolcraft uses mostly man made acrylic yarn but pure wool is a great option. Other options are available by request.
